The School...

Battle Creek Elementary was completed during the summer of 2012.  The school was built using funds from the 2008 Construction Bond.  Currently we have an approximate enrollment of 535 students. Battle Creek has eighteen kindergarten through fifth-grade classrooms, which includes four half-day sessions of kindergarten.  Our mascot is the Bears and our school colors are forest green and black.  We are very proud of the community we have built here over the past three years.  We have created a positive environment that promotes that promotes learning and growth.  We strive to model ourselves after our school motto that students and staff will "Climb to Success."  For more information, please visit the school website or contact the school at 503-399-2062.

The Teacher...

​Hello Everyone! My name is Mrs. Ross and I am a first grade teacher at Battle Creek Elementary.  I have worked for the Salem Keizer School District since 2001 as an adult assistant to individual students, a behavior specialist on the Behavior Team and as a teacher.  I am proud to say that I am a Battle Creek Bear and I have been here since the day we opened our doors. This is a picture of me in my classroom on Move-in Day, August 2012.

 

I am so excited about the opportunity to teach your child.  First grade is an amazing time in your child's life academically, socially and emotionally.  First graders are full of excitement and a willingness to learn.  I can't wait to see the progress your child makes in first grade.  It is going to be another fantastic year in Room 107.
